Pointing out parallels, corollaries, and commonalities (as well as pitfalls, surprises, and scenic views!), Michael will make your tour of Intermediate fun, approachable, and appropriate for all!

The Intermediate Series of Ashtanga Yoga is called “nadi shodana”– which means “Nerve Cleansing”– so lets be brave together! There are so many wonderful asanas and stories hiding in the Intermediate Series, we hope you’ll join us for this very special class.

Come and explore the joy and wonder of this beautiful and powerful practice. Leave with a greater appreciation and understanding of your own practice while seeing what lies ahead.

A Night of Healing: Yoga & Guitar for Stress, Anxiety, & Insomnia – Sunday, November 16th | 7:00-8:30pm

A Night of Healing: Yoga & Guitar for Stress, Anxiety, & Insomnia – Sunday, November 16th | 7:00-8:30pm

What better way to melt away tension than to practice gentle movement and breath, yoga nidra (guided meditation), and restorative poses to the soft strumming of a guitar? Allow yoga teachers Ayelet Krieger and Dan Kapner to sooth your nervous system and lead you to a state of deep tranquility.

About Dan: Dan was first introduced to yoga at 14 when his family physician prescribed three poses daily for upper back pain. A decade later, while working as a speechwriter at the UN, Dan found a regular asana practice as the perfect antidote to the busy professional life. Yoga, he learned, could encourage deep relaxation and a sense of groundedness, improve strength and stamina, and become a channel for positive living. As an RYT200 hour instructor, Dan invites students to explore yoga as a moving meditation, a linkage of movement with steady and smooth breath, to enhance these benefits. As a guitarist since age 12 with some classical training, Dan also infuses live music into his classes to help his students achieve deeper relaxation. When not on the mat, Dan practices law focusing on resolving complex construction disputes. He holds a juris doctor and a masters degree in international relations.

About Ayelet: Through years of practicing and teaching yoga, Ayelet brings a great love and deep knowledge of its teachings to her students. Fusing the systems of Yoga Works, in which she earned her 200-hour teacher certification, and Prana Flow, in which she is currently pursuing her 300-hour advanced teacher certification, Ayelet’s classes offer fluid and mindful movement. She is also an Integrative Restoration Institute Level I certified teacher of Yoga Nidra, a form of guided meditation that offers skills that calm the central nervous system and release negative emotions and thought patterns. Additionally, Ayelet is a certified Prenatal Yoga teacher through Tranquil Space Yoga Studio. When not on her mat, Ayelet is completing her doctorate in clinical psychology at George Washington University. Though she works with a range of clients and clinical issues, Ayelet’s particular interests include integrating mindfulness with psychotherapy in coping with physical and/or medical challenges, depression, stress and anxiety, grief, trauma, eating disorders, and substance abuse. Ayelet’s work in psychology complements her yoga teachings, as she is interested in nurturing the relationship between heart, body, and mind– exploring how each can help to heal the other.
