This workshop is designed specifically for runners to prevent common injuries, although it could be enjoyed by all athletes and yoga enthusiasts.

A Night of Healing: Yoga & Guitar for Stress, Anxiety, & Insomnia – Sunday, November 16th | 7:00-8:30pm
About Dan: Dan was first introduced to yoga at 14 when his family physician prescribed three poses daily for upper back pain. A decade later, while working as a speechwriter at the UN, Dan found a regular asana practice as the perfect antidote to the busy professional life. Yoga, he learned, could encourage deep relaxation and a sense of groundedness, improve strength and stamina, and become a channel for positive living. As an RYT200 hour instructor, Dan invites students to explore yoga as a moving meditation, a linkage of movement with steady and smooth breath, to enhance these benefits. As a guitarist since age 12 with some classical training, Dan also infuses live music into his classes to help his students achieve deeper relaxation. When not on the mat, Dan practices law focusing on resolving complex construction disputes. He holds a juris doctor and a masters degree in international relations.
About Ayelet: As a yogini who has been practicing for nearly a decade, Ayelet brings great love of yoga and a deep knowledge of its teachings to her students. In line with YogaWorks, where Ayelet earned her 200-hour teacher certification, her classes fuse the heat of Ashtanga with the safe alignment of Iyengar. She is also a Level I certified iRest Yoga Nidra teacher through the Integrative Restoration Institute. When not on her mat, Ayelet is pursuing a doctorate in psychology (PsyD) at George Washington University. In the past she has worked with victims of abuse, trauma survivors, substance users, and newly diagnosed breast cancer patients. Ayelet’s work in psychology complements her yoga teachings, as she is interested in nurturing the relationship between heart, body, and mind ~ exploring how each can help to heal the other.
