No One Here Gets Out Alive: A Soulstice Celebration of Life & Death with Yael Flusberg – Saturday, December 20th | 7:00-8:30pm

No One Here Gets Out Alive: A Soulstice Celebration of Life & Death with Yael Flusberg – Saturday, December 20th | 7:00-8:30pm

Some say that during the solstice, the veil between the living and the spirit world lifts, much like in the Biblical dream scene known as Jacob’s ladder – in which angels ascend and descend a staircase connecting heaven and earth.

We’ll come together as a community to celebrate the lives of those who’ve transitioned into spirit, engage simple breath and clearing practices drawn from several mystical traditions to help one prepare for death, and send blessings to those on the other side. Dress comfortably, but no need to wear yoga clothes, as we will not be doing postural work. Please bring a candle, a photo or other object representing someone who has passed to place on our collective altar, and your favorite pen and notebook. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Wendt Center for Loss & Healing.

When: Saturday, December 20th | 7:00-8:30pm

Breath & Tonic with Yael Flusberg – Sunday, February 15th | 7:00-8:30pm

Breath & Tonic with Yael Flusberg – Sunday, February 15th | 7:00-8:30pm

Every minute, your body requires anywhere from one cup to two gallons of oxygen. (The amount depends on whether you’re on your couch watching sports or muddying yourself up on the field). Stress — or just crappy breathing habits — can create constricted breathing patterns, leading to anxiety, fatigue, muscular tension, even digestive issues. Breathing better is the single best way to bathe your tissues and organs in life-enhancing oxygen and to increase the natural ability of your body to detox.

In this workshop, we’ll use pranayama to improve the circulatory and respiratory systems, reduce tension, and relax the mind while stimulating greater awareness of ourselves and our environments. In addition to breathing together, we’ll enjoy long-held restorative postures and a yoga nidra meditation to help you integrate what you learn.  Dress in comfortable layers.

Pen & Pose: Integrating Yoga & Writing with Yael Flusberg – Saturday, February 28th | 1:45-3:45pm

Pen & Pose: Integrating Yoga & Writing with Yael Flusberg – Saturday, February 28th | 1:45-3:45pm

Our stories often lie hidden not just in our grey matter, but in our muscles, glands, guts, and breath. The creative work of both yoga and writing can illuminate pathways into feelings, memories, and images stored deep within our bodies and help us reflect, heal, and build community.

In this unique workshop, poet and yoga teacher Yael Flusberg will get us in touch with our kinesthetic sense of self through breathwork and poses; mindfulness techniques will slow the mind and create a sense of the sacred; and writing exercises will help excavate what sometimes gets buried inside. Wear comfortable clothes, and bring your favorite notebook and pen, and an open attitude.
